Types of counseling

Individuals

Stacy uses Attachment Science, Neuroscience, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to conceptualize where each client’s adaptions are powerful and helping them in life, and where these same adaptations are preventing clients from living the life they desire. Stacy believes that every client has the capacity to make powerful and meaningful changes in their life. Her goal is to provide a corrective emotional experience, working side-by-side with clients while they move from chaos to a more integrated and balanced way of living.

Couples

Individuals come into relationships with hopes, dreams, and their own ways of navigating life’s challenges. Stacy has a genuine curiosity for each partner’s adaptive strategies in life and how these show up in relationship with their partner. She finds joy in helping clients, through Emotionally Focused Therapy, to see themselves and their partners from new perspectives and supporting their journey to create something new and meaningful together.

EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) enables people to heal from the symptoms that are the result difficult life experiences.  Studies show that EMDR can help heal the mind from psychological trauma similar to the way the body recovers from physical trauma. EMDR helps remove blocks so the mind can naturally move toward mental healing.

EFT

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is based in attachment science, which recognizes human beings as wired to be relational, social, and made for intimate bonding with others. It prioritizes emotion and emotional regulation as key components for relationship interactions. EFT helps individuals recognize their own emotional needs and those of their partner while highlighting how dysregulation creates challenges in relationships. Through the process of EFT, partners grow to understand, regulate, and express emotional needs in ways that create a more secure and lasting bond.
